Just a quick after-lunch hike to get out and enjoy the great weather. I parked at the Horse Lot along First Water Road and climbed over the rail to hit the trail down the narrow wash leading to First Water Creek. The narrow canyon had pools of water at the First Water Creek end and I soon heard the sounds of running water in the Creek around the corner. Water was running most of the way through the gorge and large pools remain, almost blocking the entrance to Hackberry Spring.

The campground areas have lots of fresh green grass now growing following the recent rainy spell and the underbrush (catsclaw) is beginning to show signs of new growth. Up the trail, around the Hackberry Spring Butte to the trail crossroads and down into the First Water Basin. More large pools in the basin but little flowing between em. Continued on crossing First Water Creek again, past the tin-covered corral and up the hill to First Water Road taking me back to the parking lot.

Awesome little trip through some scenic Lower First Water areas, then stopped at the Bluebird for a refreshing cold beverage afterwards... :y:

Some fresh wildflowers are beginning to poke their heads through the brown grasses.

The end of the exposed pipe continues to issue small amounts of filterable water as the pools in First Water Creek are full to overflowing.

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip.
