Lately I've been taking a series of short hikes around the Superstitions that usually have some sort of a wildflower show, but so far this year it's been pretty sparse. Today's meanderings took me to the Crosscut Trail where I found some Brittlebush and Chuparosa in full bloom and the occasional Globe Mallow in the early stages. The California Poppies are scattered and the groups are small... So far, it's not a very good year for wildflower watching.
