| no partners | | With the intent of burning off some of Thanksgiving's calories, I decided to hit the Lost Goldmine Trail to enjoy a bit of sun and the lower temps. I parked at the Carney Spring TH along Peralta Road and found it almost packed, don't know where every one's going from here, but they must have the same idea as mine. I met one couple along the trail and they said they got lost and pointed to the wash alongside the Wave Cave as their route Another couple, with two dogs, wanted to go to the Wave Cave but missed the turnoff and went up Carney until the dogs wouldn't go any further
I got to the Wilderness gate and made a hard left heading towards Turks Head and was happy to see no one else on the trails. I continued on until almost to Turks Head then headed North into no-trails land. I stumbled along on the boulder strewn landscape until I reached a high spot where I turned around and had awesome views of the Saguaro forest in the foothills below me.
I had a late start this morning and wanted to be home to watch the Cards, so I slowly worked my way back down to the trail and back to the parking lot which was beginning to thin out by now. After all the hot weather this summer, it's great to get out in long sleeve shirts and crisp air.
Hope everyone's Thanksgiving day was a great as mine.....
