I returned to the low desert area I've been exploring with a plan to head up a wash and over a ridge and see what I could see. At least one academic claims this is an "ancient path" used by desert inhabitants for thousands of years.

I saw a lot of petroglyphs, some wild burros, and a crested saguaro. It makes sense this was an ancient path judging from the decorated rocks seen along the way but I'd guess the path I could see was being maintained by the burros.

Beautiful day to be wandering around the low desert.
