Petrophile asked Ali and me to join him on a trip to the lower Gila River a couple miles downstream from Sears Point.

I hadn't been to that area before - really nice - the desert is truly varnished there, not spoiled by cows, and darn few people.

The ancient people signs are obvious. The numerous paths above the river edge seem to be the old ones and the many rock alignments we encountered are authentic works I'd wager.

All along our path we found petroglyphs - some sites expected, some a surprise. Really nice day out with a couple petroglyph connoisseurs. Thanks to Petrophile for getting us close in his Jeep Zombicon.
