With cooler weather and fall colors on my mind but not wanting to break the bank in terms of a long drive the first place I thought of was "The Bradshaws"!
Not to mention my dog needed to get out of the house and I was really in the mood for a a nice easy hike that involves a trail for once.
Perfect hiking weather up in that area today, crisp autum air with plenty of overcast and breeze.
I surprisingly did not encounter another person throughout my entire hike, that was truly an added bonus for me that I was not expecting.
The views from Union are suberb, you can truly see for hundreds of miles in every direction up there and the bounty of clouds and late afternoon sun just added to my vision.
Although I do personally like Mount Davis more in terms of its character and distinguishing summit aspects, it had a nice rock face on the very top just past the actual summit.
On my way down I spooked a couple of deer foraging in the dry drainge just before Poachers Row.
After finishing my hike I drove to one of my favorite spots along the Hassayampa River to check out the water levels and fall foliage and even though I didn't find a gold mine of foliage I still managed to find a nugget or two.
