| partners | | We headed for the Pinals to find some color and try the 4X. Somewhere along the way we decided to do only half the loop and take our time in Ice House Canyon. We started up the Telephone Trail and eventually made our way over to Ferndell Spring area which on this day had the best color on the mountain. Next up we decided to hit Pinal and Signal Peaks and then the Ladder Rock which was worth the short side trip. Lunch on Signal Peak before heading back down the towards Ice House Canyon.
Once on Ice House it's a really nice stroll through the thick maples. This section typically has the best color besides Ferndell Spring area but we were about week or so early. Having decided not to do the 4X we took our time on Ice House which even without max color is a really cool section of trail. We also ran into toddak doing the 4X in the opposite direction...nice to chat with him for a few minutes. After that it was an easy stroll back to the vehicle. Good easy day in the Pinals! |
