We did a quick little trip to see the new trail work that VOAz is doing on the Highline. It's incredible! They are rebuilding and realigning the Highline to more sustainable conditions, which is a huge challenge when the soil is sand about the consistency of flour. To avoid a totally destroyed up and down about a mile east of Washington Park they cut a big out-and-back to the south. We called it the "Fang" because of its shape and because while laying it out the brush was so dense it damaged us like a fang. It turned out gorgeous! Views along the Mogollon Rim and south along the east slope of the Mazatzals are breathtaking. BRAVO!

Now all that's needed is steward group to maintain it!
