| no partners | | Kathy and Karl are going to attempt to get me up to Skull Mesa  ; something I've wanted to do for quite some time. So wish them good luck with that and hope that I won't be slow as molasses.... especially for Karl's sake. So I needed to do some kind of hiking this busy weekend.
I started from VC clockwise but with a detour around the north side of the little hill you go over (I've gone down it from the other side from the west side of the saddle) on the normal route and then I kept following the path to the other hill and down before starting the climb from the base of the tower on the Cloud Nine route. After hiking to the western towers instead of going up the paved hill I went up the hillside below the towers... and that's where I encountered the hang glider taking off. On the way down I encountered the drone at the saddle area.
It was a really nice day out but I did have to pull down my shirt sleeves for the hike down; especially in the shade. I took the dam back just to continue to mix it up.
