We chose a loop hike posted by chipsnguac. Along the way to Hackberry Spring, we crossed paths with a family that was headed there too but seemed uncertain about the route. We invited them to join us, and they did. Toby, Catherine and their two boys were good company and I think the youthful energy of the boys gave us all a little extra giddy up.
There was a little bit of water in spots. It's amazing how quickly it disappears, even after a fair amount of rain. The spring was a trickle but the basin above the pipe was full and clear.
Fun hike today. It was nice to get Rhonda out of Lost Dutchman for a change, and it was an outstanding effort on her part. Best of all, she enjoyed it, so we might get to do it again! It was very nice hiking with our new acquaintances, too. |
