I've longed wanted to check out this scenic vista but every time I plugged it into my GPS and realized how far it was I kept putting it on the back burner but this leisurely little vacation fit the bill perfectly.

I originally wanted to camp here for sunset and sunrise but a disappointing sign doesn't allow camping within the last 1/2 mile near the lookout.
After seeing just how jaw dropping and downright amazing the expansive views are from there I now completely agree with "Day Use Only" rule and I obeyed that as this is a special place that deserves to stay that way.

I wanted to check out a few drainages to see if I could find any ground water flowing since the nearby "Paradise Forks" was still flowing steady.
Sycamore tank was a gem and perhaps one of the very few tanks I would dare even call scenic, it resides in a depression on the literal edge of the canyon rim and has a spectacular view from its eastern side.

I then made my way up to the old Kennedy Dam which is another little scenic watering hole/ miniature lake.
The dam bursted long ago and when overflowing due to heavy snowmelt the water now runs its natural course down the drainage down to the confluence of Sycamore Canyon.

Lastly I checked out the west side of the the vista to peer down into the drainage that leads into Tule Canyon to see if there was any visible water but it was much too steep to see the drainage floor.

Sunset at Sycamore Point was spectacular and this is truly a place that needs to be appreciated in person, I tried my best but pictures just truly do not do justice for how massive this place really is.
