Regardless, you won't need a track or a lot of guidance, just continue to the end of Rt 270 past Hawi along the north shore of BG (Hawi is a former sugar town) to the end of road. Rt 270 is also called Akoni Pule Hwy. Beautiful doesn't do it justice, this place is nothing short of awesome. Nice short hike down to a black sand beach with views of unbelievable cliffs and small islands. However, when wet, look out. This would be a skate up and down.
You could go much further down the coast line if you wished on the Awinii Tr.
Stop in Hawi and look at the King Kamehameha statue. The story is that this is the original that got lost when a ship sank (later found, recovered, and placed here, since he was from this area), and a second was ordered made which eventually was placed in front of Iolani Palace in Honolulu. The Doughty book has some great historical background.
