| no partners | | | Second warm up (actually we were pretty warm by that time) via ferrata (also called "Itineraire Guy Favre")between Bessans and Bonneval-sur-Arc, France. Book graded this one as technical grade 2 (of 5), exposure 4 (of 5), and seriousness B (of A, B, or C). But...., we had already done a decent hike and one via ferrata, so we were a little low on gas. Plus, the approach on this one is very steep and difficult, so we didn't complete the entire loop. Most of what you see on the track is approach. We got to do some of the exposed cliff. The complete loop is 1000 meters long with an ascent of 510 m. HARD approach. Great protection on the part we completed. Fantastic views of the valley toward Bessans. |
