| partners | | Frank, Matt and I talked ourselves into trying something with a little elevation, using the old "it'll be cooler up there" rationale. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the TH, it was almost 90 for the start. Oddly, we kept after it and it didn't seem that bad. Josephine Saddle was pretty nice and Baldy was fantastic. Getting to the top was a little much for me yet (I stopped at the Baldy Saddle), but Matt took off like a bat and actually ran back down to the saddle (I think those marines are a little off in the head.) Actually, at 8000 feet, it was not insane. A little hazy, but a great day out, even with the hot finish.
For those who like to stop at the McDonalds in Green Valley (like me), forget it, it has been demolished for a new bldg. But the Safeway is just across the lot. |
