| no partners | | If I have a go to local hike during the warm months, Pass Mountain is it. I didn't renew my regional park pass this year, so I started from the cutout on Usery Pass Rd, not far from the Usery park entrance. I think I like that better.
I started at 5:15, took the loop trail clockwise to the pass and then back. On the return, I followed the Maricopa trail down to the lower parking lot where I hooked up with my occasional winter hiking partner, Kevin from NE, who is back in town for a week. He hiked the Lone Mountain trail. I was going to join him at the end of my hike, but I arrived too late. It was already a toasty 89 degrees at 7:15 so I opted to sit under a shady tree and wait until he returned. He gave me a ride back to the cutout to get my ride, then we both headed out for breakfast to catch up.
I saw eight hikers and four mountain bikers on the trails, all seeming having a good time. I know I did.
Good seeing you again Kevin! |
