| partners | | | Just before I left my house this morning, I grabbed a headlamp, then met Daniela at Warpaint at 5:00. It was definitely dark enough to need the light at 5:00, and it was a good thing I had it, because we encountered a rattler on the trail about a mile in. We took a few pics of it, then kept going. I offered Daniela some yard maintenance advice in the form of: "If your husband expects you to hold an ocotillo plant while he's still digging the hole, he can't act surprised when you drop it on him." Daniela is a nicer person than I am. Very warm, and no breeze at all on our way up Corona. We saw our two usual Corona runners and chatted with them for a moment near the top. We headed through the rocks to the little peak above the saddle, and Daniela even dropped a rare (for her) F-bomb about how warm it was. The mosquitoes were awful, but I think that's just me, because they weren't bothering Daniela as much. We made good time back down and finished up around 6:45. |
