This was another great hike to take with my two brothers; once we figured out where the parking spot was. It's actually a little past the 2 mile marker headed North on Cave Creek Rd (past the Tonto Hills) and on the right hand side. There is also a sign at the trail head and in our case, a couple horse trailers. Once you start going down the hill and to the wash, you've gone too far.
It was a bit nippy this day; especially when the breeze was blowing. The trail was fairly easy to follow as long as you keep to the north and east once you get down in the wash from the trailhead. We too ran into a few sets of horseback riders but everyone was enjoying the day and what nature had to offer us. Once you come to the end of the wash, Camp Creek is before you and you should turn left (north) and go around the corner (heading west) and you will run into and hear the falls.
We hiked above the falls to have our lunch break. The weather was just perfect at that time as the wind didn't seem to be blowing. We did a little more exploring in the area and then headed back.
Since we live in North Phoenix, this is the perfect quick hike for us; once we found the trailhead. I have uploaded some pics including some pics of the GPS my brother did for us. We plan to make this a family hike for President's weekend.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
