Mostly forest views for the first mile or so, then it opens up on a ridge which then drops into a smaller falls along the stream and then travels down to the money spot, right at the edge of upper Waiopo Falls. Gorgeous views into Waimea Canyon. I crossed the stream above the falls, hoping to get a better view of the falls from a vantage point further down the trail, but the trail was much less defined on the other side of the stream and was extremely muddy and slick. Time was ticking as well, so I decided to expend my energy on exploring a couple of other spots further up canyon. |
