I led a group of 10 (counting myself) on a hike out to the Dixie Mine, and then up the wash past the mine. We returned by hiking a short ways on Prospector back to the service road and then returned via the Dixie Mine Trail.

There is a very nice panel of petroglyphs just past the mine and some more (though isolated) petroglyphs further up the wash.

The Dixie Mine Trail between the park boundary and the service road is probably the most scenic trail in all of McDowell Mountain Regional Park. We found the trail to be in good condition and very easy to follow.
