| no partners | | Another solo Friday Hike in MMRP / MSP...
Starting from the parking area at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd, I walked through the Eagle's Nest subdivision, entering MMRP a little over half a mile later. From there I went out on Dixie Mine, left on Coachwhip, left on Windmill, left on Bell Pass, left on Prospector, and left on the service road, returning via Dixie Mine.
The trail was largely in good condition, though there was some erosion, especially at wash crossings, due to the recent rain.
I saw some Arizona Poppies / Caltrops in a wash off the Windmill Trail. I wandered into the wash to get a few photos. I also saw some Senna, but didn't like the specimens I saw well enough to bother with photos. I also saw a large male deer while hiking Prospector; it was too quick for me to get a photo.
As I returned on Dixie Mine, I saw two other pairs of hikers setting out. I was kind of surprised at their late morning start. |
