My first trip on the Hackberry Springs Loop. I had a good time with this one!
I'm still very new to this side of the Superstitions and have a lot to explore yet. It's pretty good when you can do a hike like this in late May. I think it was pretty quiet due to the fact it's Memorial Weekend and most are out of town.
Following the map I downloaded, I decided to take the loop clockwise, so I hit the springs first and then back around Garden Valley. My mistake, it's harder this way as I got lost finding the trail after Hackberry. I wandered in the wash wondering where the trail was and bushwacked around a mile, only to find out that it was right above me the whole time! ](*,)
Looking back, it may be easier going the other way as it's easier to stay with a trail.
It's beautiful out here, i bet really pretty when it's not bone dry. No water and barely any color whatsoever. Still loved the hike!
