Ive always wanted to check this place out after reading about it in the 2017 edition of “Your Guide To Rim Country Trails” which is a neat little publication the town of Payson makes every year.
I used to hand those suckers out by the hundreds at my workplace in every new member packet solely as conversation pieces which people seemed to enjoy and because I love to get distracted and talk about anything hiking related for hours on end.
I had my doubts that all the rain overnight dissipated throughout the day but figured there would still be plenty of water, which there was!
Silty brown Wonka water with little bit of clear flow throughout each pool.
I should have came here in the morning and the USA gulch in the evening as this had low flow and the gulch had too much but hey you can’t win em all!
According to the book, there is petroglyphs, old mining claims and numerous spots where water falls off a cliff which will have to wait for another day.
