Already saturated ground turned everything into a straight up “Water World” as @RedRoxx44 best describes it because every crack, crevice, draw and drainage had copious amounts of flowing water which made the actual canyons they feed into look and sound like raging mini rivers flowing with some serious power.
Camped on the edge of the rim Saturday night and I kid you not you could hear trickling waterfalls pouring off drainages of the Mogollon Rim itself down into the many creeks and canyons below the rim that were also heard running with a roaring torrent from hundreds of feet above.
Hit some completely new country Sunday and was absolutely blown away by the amount of water I found once again in every direction especially since there was not any rain for the past 24 hours.
Slightly cooler temperatures at night and early morning made for such an enjoyable nights rest although the mid day humidity and heat in some of those deep canyons had me sweating like a hog.
Great weekend exploring some new area under some epic conditions and a quick return visit out of the way to somewhere prior.
