| no partners | | With the weather getting a little bit cooler and a Sunday night Steeler kickoff, this was the perfect chance to take the family out for a local hike. We haven't been out for a hike as a family since April. I saw Cannondale Kid's description for the new Lost Sheep Trail at Usery Park and that seemed like the best bet.
We started along the Blevins Trail and headed over to the Moon Rock Trail on our way to the Lost Sheep Trail and up to the Visitor Center. Up there, we hiked the Desert Hawk Loop, which is no longer a proper loop. One section of it has been closed for some reason. We hiked the entire open section, basically doing two out and backs to the closed section on either side.
After that we hiked back to the Moon Rock Trail, and hiked all of that back to the Blevins Trail and back to the car. The clouds began to roll in after an hour or so which helped to keep the temperature cool. Nice to get out with the family again for a hike. |
