| partners | | did this hike five years ago with pam and really liked it
john hadn't done it, so this was our second hike for the weekend
packed up our dispersed campsite, which was only three or four miles away and got going around 0830
stopped at the first spot with water flowing over bedrock and took a few photos
saw one guy leaving about two miles in
i like the part of the trail that hugs the red rock and has some elevation change
nice to look down into some fall color in the creek, mostly sycamore with a few cottonwood
no one at the crack
looked around and took a long snack break
checked out the crossing and headed back
visited a set of larger pools on the way back
john spotted four or five otters fleeing our presence into a small cave or den
temps warmed up to about 70 - not quite warm enough to jump in
saw maybe seven people on the hike out
not bad for such a scenic area
i was a little surprised that we had it to ourselves
fun weekend with good company
thanks, john
