Had not hiked this trail in some time, tho I am frequently in the area, due to its status as hotbed of arch. sites and ancient cultivated agaves, in particular. Trail is in excellent shape, and tho flora in the area has taken quite a beating from prolonged drought conditions, it all comes alive a bit more than halfway along the trail. Thankfully, only a small crowd along the trail today, and surprisingly few at the crack.
