I finally stopped at this beautiful location after thinking about doing so many times. The area around Pecos, New Mexico is rich with history. In addition to this site, the Santa Fe Trail passed through here, and later the railroad. The very significant Civil War Battle of Glorieta Pass occurred in the vicinity as well. I just walked the main ruins trail, but someday I hope to go back and check out the Civil War sites. |
