Went up Echo Canyon to Camelback today, since I had the day off and it was on the way home from dropping off family at the airport. Thinking it was going to be tough to park on a holiday at 9:30 am in the lot, I was pleasantly surprised to see the lot only half-full. I scored a spot right by the start of the trail. Sadly, this wasn't the case when I came down; Ranger had the lot closed and people were circling the neighborhood. ](*,) I soon remembered why this isn't my favorite trail.
There were lots of puddles and mud from yesterday's rain which made everything very slick adding to the challenge. And it was cold!!!
The views from the top were very nice, however, not so much smog. I must've just missed the Christmas tree and Santa. :( Oh well next year.
