Photo radar up near Cholla so they're doing about 90 mph down near Camelback. Busy. Didn't sink in until second summit. Probably should have attempted a count. I'd guess 100+ ON the summit. Most I recall. Civil considering all. Lots of Emory Rock Daisy. Got stung by a bee in the face. Irritable for 10 minutes. He died, nuff said. Cars parked down to Exeter south of Camelback. SFS is only a half mile further.
Kiwanis
Brittlebush starting to die out, nodding blooms. Large swaths of Emory Rock Daisy covering lower hillside. Butterfly chase! Very few lycium berries. Lots of poppies driving in. Only a few on upper Kiwanis. Some of the friendliest people I've ever met on Kiwanis. Shady late afternoon. Keep that in mind for summer!
Promise Land
Kid in a beat-up Corvette with a gnarly exhaust leaving. WTH, my first car was a beat up VW.
Porta potties are easy bake ovens in the afternoon.
Yoga pants and high heels. Can't make this stuff up. Two of us involuntarily chuckled in passing. On the bright side, it was a chic. Better than the banana hammock chicken man any day! |
