| no partners | | After the big Saturday Sedona hike, I wanted to take the family out for a shorter hike a little closer to home. I hadn't hiked the trails up by Bartlett Lake in over 15 years. I'm actually not sure if I've even ever hiked the Jojoba Trail.
We got a bit of late start with the longer drive up there, so we only did a little over 4 miles. The Jojoba Trail is only just over a mile, so we hiked about a mile more up along the Palo Verde Trail and turned around. The lake level is obviously pretty high, and you can tell by the vegetation sticking out along the edges of the water. The water also looks pretty brown and cloudy from all the runoff and snowmelt.
The weather was much warmer than the cooler, windy weather in Sedona yesterday, but still very comfortable. Saw more hikers towards the end of the hike, and a few fishers along the shores.
Had a good lunch at the Scottsdale Beer Company on the way home. Nice way to spend a Sunday with the family and a very good weekend of AZ hiking, enjoying the green from the rain and snow. |
