After the marathon hike in Sedona on Saturday, I thought a short nearby hike with the family would be nicer than jogging the next day. I had never done the Fish Rock loop, so thus seemed perfect.

The weather was perfect for this. Sunny, but still almost chilly. There were just enough clouds rolling by to keep the direct sun off us. It also made for some nice shadows on the mountains.

We saw quite a few other hikers, but it didn't really seem crowded. The views on the north half of the loop were really nice. It seems like you're in the wilderness, but civilization is just over the ridge.

I saw spur trails on both saddles that looked like they lead up to Peak 3004. That might be another hike to try later. I also saw a spur at the very start that heads east towards Bulldog Canyon. Looks like more to explore in this area.
