| partners | | I decided to check out an area that I'd not been to before. LP and I started to a surprisingly full boat launch at Bartlett Lake. There must have been 50+ vehicles and trailers on a chilly very windy morning. We later learned we were in the midst of a Bass fishing tournament.
We started on the Jojoba Trail, headed north for our CCW loop. This trail roller coasters roughly the shoreline, 1.25 miles to the picnic area at Rattlesnake Cove.
From here we hit the Palo Verde Trail which is a 4.5 mile continuation of the roller coaster. Great views of the lake and Mazzys the entire way. There has been very recent maintenance done to the northern part of this trail. Both trails were in decent shape.
Past SB Cove we just followed the shoreline until we couldn't anymore. From here we followed a wash up to what is now decommissioned FR42. A bit of a road walk and more old roads completed the loop.
It ended up being almost perfect weather. Just a smattering of poppies and lupines on the day. Good to catch up with John. |
