Started from the Aspen Creek trailhead at 7:30am and 36 degrees. Found signs warning of a mountain bike race, luckily for the next day. Headed south on Aspen Creek trail to East Copper trail. Took Copper up to Mount Francis road to the top of the mountain. Followed a jeep road north from the summit back to Aspen Creek trail for a short walk back to the trailhead. Saw a bunch of mountain bikes out enjoying the day and some hikers with a lack of a plan and destination looking for the communication towers. Lots of Oak Apples (galls) on Aspen Creek trail. Nice tarantula on East Copper trail.
