It’s been a while since I have been out to Saguaro Lake, so I decided to do a late afternoon hike out on Butcher Jones. Lots of folks out having picnics and kayaking when I arrived. I started out with the goal of hiking out past the second point so I could get some sunset pictures and also catch some light on the eastern cliffs and the Superstitions. Low clouds on the western horizon blocked most of that.

Once the sunset, I explored up the hill a little and then started back towards the parking lot.

The sunset was a disappointment, but the colors that came afterwards were very nice.

I need to come back out here and give this area the proper exploration it deserves.
