| no partners | | I planned on a sunrise hike up Lone Mountain/EJ Peak this morning, but I pressed "cancel" instead of "snooze". I woke up too late for that one. So, I headed over to First Water Road to explore the Crosscut/Treasure Loop area. I made a quick stop along Lost Dutchman Blvd/Idaho Rd as the colors of the sunrise were peaking.
I parked off the first lot on First Water Road and set out to explore. I did not stay on the main trails for most of the hike, but instead opted for some paths less traveled. Lots of little trails out in this area. One of these trails off Jacob's Trail took me to Treasure Loop, in the area right before you start heading up to the Praying Hands. Very nice out this morning. I saw only one other person out today, but heard a few parties along the Crosscut.
I came across a group of mule deer and managed to get a few pictures before they bounced away. No other critters except the usual lizards and bunnies.
My ankle is still not very strong and I still get a little swelling after these easy hikes I have been doing. I hope this darn thing starts improving. Not hiking or hiking on the flat ones is killing me. Oh well, better to have it heal properly or I will be regretting it even more if I re-injure it (again). |
