| no partners | | It was foggy at my house this morning, so I was all excited for another foggy hike. All fog ceased exactly 200' north of my house. It was a bitter disappointment. Traffic sucked getting out of Ahwatukee, so I parked in the neighborhood by Pima Canyon instead of at the actual trailhead. Met my friend just after 8:00, and we headed up Marcos De Niza. Slick rocks in a few places, but no mud to deal with with. Continued up Guadalupe Ridge, taking that all the way west. My friend had not hiked the full length of Guadalupe Ridge before, so the western half was new to him. Headed back east on National, then through Hidden Valley. Headed down to Mormon Loop, where we got stuck behind some firemen for a few minutes. Not a problem as far as I was concerned. Continued down Mormon Loop, then east on Ridgeline, and took West Loop to the parking lot. I promised a hike under 10 miles this time, and pushed it as close to 10 as I dared. Good hike, and good weather despite the lack of clouds. |
