I started up the sandy wash to where it splits then took the ridge up to the road. It's steep at times but not choked and took about 40 minutes to reach the trailhead. I hiked the Reavis trail to look at some ruins uncovered by the fire that I saw last September but didn't get a chance to get to. On the way out from the trailhead, I hiked down the wash instead of the ridge and decided the ridge was better. The trail is in good shape and the few washed out areas are better than I expected. It was a beautiful day with no large groups and I didn't see another person. The was a black Kia parked by me when I returned but I never saw anyone. They may have hiked down toward the lake. A great day out and about.
