| no partners | | I started an hour later than usual. I was hungover from a Friday night PixelTrivia bender. I was in the zone "Peak", "Loop", "Trail", "Creek" and finally had to drag myself away. Now I'm back on my meds and rebuilding my life. I could have been somebody, I could have been a contender. The goal today was solitude and I found that at the 2nd Haunted trailhead. As soon as I got out of the Jeep I could hear running water. the trails are wet, washed out and overgrown, perfect in my book. I stayed dry for a while then just walked through the water as it was warm out and the cold water was refreshing. The route was up Haunted Canyon trail, north on Bull Basin then over The Government Hill ridge back to Paradise/Haunted Canyon trails. The road in was only a little soft and no real muddy spots. I didn't pass a single hiker all day. Now that solo hiking is the safest I realize I was not crazy, just ahead of my time. |
