We needed something on trail with different distance options. Perfect weather in the McDowells.

We were going to be starting before the 7:02 Gateway TH gate opening, so I parked at the Legacy Blvd/Thompson Peak Parkway TH, that I've parked at many times before. Based on the slip of paper on my windshield on our return, not an option anymore.

I've done variations of this loop quite a few times.

Things that make me redoing portions of this loop include, the climb and huge boulders going up the East End Trail, the views at the end of the Lookout Trail and the tread and views going down the Tom Thumb Trail.

We stopped at Mountain Spring on the way down and it was dry.
Not sure if there is a break in the pipe above or not.

It was kinda nice and unusual to be home by 1:30 on a hike day.
