an after-dentist hike. Temperature was just right but the prolonged wind gusts had me change my original plan of doing the Gateway Loop clockwise. Quite a few hikers out as usual; I didn't go out of my way to say hello today as this is one of the more unfriendly trails. Took the Paradise Trail that I always enjoy even though it's short. That Levee Trail is so darn rocky until you get to the far west section. After getting off that and heading north on the connector; when I came to the turn for the Gateway TH I decided to go right as I thot I could do a little loop to hook back up with Gateway. I checked on Route Scout and that was indeed the case. Maybe this was the old trail before this part was re-aligned. I did go by an old stone rock foundation and an old road too.

Oh, saw some blooming brittlebush

on the drive up on Thompson Peak Parkway south of Bell Rd.
