| no partners | | Yesterday I decided to do my annual rite of spring hike from Lost Dutchman State Park to Peak 5057 and back.
This is a tough day hike -- I'd say that it is perhaps more strenuous than a rim-to-rim hike in the Grand Canyon.
There were quite a few people up on the ridgeline yesterday -- more than I think that I have ever seen. Strangely, there weren't too many people going up Flatiron though.
It's always great being up on the Superstition Ridgeline, and this hike traversed the best parts of the ridgeline twice. |

Wildflowers Observation Light Wildflowers up on the ridgeline were light -- there were a few Dichelostemma capitatum, goodings verbena, western wallflower, and Indian paintbrush. The flowers along the Siphon Draw Trail were more in the moderate category -- in particular the brittlebush, globemallow, and chuparosa looked really good. |

| | There is still a bit of water in Siphon Draw from the rain last weekend, but there really isn't much to see at this point. | | _____________________
