| no partners | | It was a somewhat cool day in the Valley so I decided to head to the McDowell's for a hike and to check out the wildflowers. I started from the Lost Dog Wash TH and went up to Sunrise Peak, and then headed over to the Fountain Hills Preserve and went up to Peak 3098. The last few times that I have done this hike I went clockwise on the Western Loop Trail; to shake things up, I went CCW this time.
This is a decent hike to get some distance and elevation gain, but after you have done it a few times it isn't all that exciting. There were a few wildflowers blooming, but I'd say that it will be a couple of weeks before you'll get very excited seeing wildflowers. |

Wildflowers Observation Light There were a few wildflowers in bloom throughout the hike, but it will be a couple of weeks before you'll "ooh and aah" at the wildflower display. |
