This was my 3rd hike in 2020 that started from the Slate Creek TH, but this time I went to Little Mount Ord instead of Mount Ord. I got the idea for this one from a trip report that @wallyfrack posted recently.

Most of this hike was on forest roads: FR 27, FR 626, and FR 1688. From FR 1688 there is a short off-trail stroll to the summit of Little Mount Ord that is about 0.2 mile each way.

This is a decent workout hike, although the views at the Little Mount Ord summit are not nearly as good as those atop Mount Ord.

If I was to go to Little Mount Ord again I think that I would go up to Mount Ord, and then descend an off-trail ridgeline down to Little Mount Ord, and then go back to the TH the same way that I went today. I think that would be about the same distance as this hike, although it would probably be around 4,500 feet of AEG.
