Parked off San Gabriel, several cars there at 10am. Headed up Young Man, which had weekend levels of hikers. At the top, we headed west on Guadalupe Ridge, then down into Hidden Valley at the east end. The kids loved the trail down into Hidden Valley. After the tunnel, which still had running water, we headed down the wash. That was the highlight of the day for the kids, with running water, lots of easy scrambling. Once we reached National, we headed up to the Ridge again, then down San Gabriel Ridge back to the car. Short hike, but the kids loved it. Next time, we’ll go further west on Guadalupe Ridge to get some extra mileage.
