This is one of my favorite Phoenix area hikes, so I decided to do this one again.

There were quite a few people at the First Water TH when I got there at 6:45, but most of them were part of a group doing some trail maintenance on the Black Mesa Trail.

This was the first time that I have been in this area since the fire this summer, and there was quite a bit of burn damage along the Second Water Trail. Hopefully some regrowth will begin once we get some rain.

Boulder Canyon was bone dry, which took the fun out of the creek crossings.

The climb up on Battleship is always fun, and today was no exception. On the way back we dropped down into LaBarge Box and hung around there for a while. It was a bit warmer than I like on the way back -- in the low 80's.
