| partners | | It had been over 2 years since I had been to Battleship, so I decided to hike it again while the weather was still cool.
We started early from the First Water TH, and did not see anyone until we got to the Boulder Canyon Trail, where a few people were camping.
There was water flowing in all of the creek crossings along Boulder Canyon, but we were able to keep our feet dry by taking advantage of some strategically placed rocks.
It was the usual fun climb up to Battleship, though I did not appreciate the wind up there. After coming back down Battleship, we went over to La Barge Box and had a nice lunch break. There was lots of water in the Box -- more than I have ever seen there.
We then made the long hike back to the TH.
It was a nice day to be out there, although the wind was a bit cold in the morning. I was surprised at how few people were out on this nice day. |
