Up San Gabriel Ridge, which is not my favorite in terms of footing. Down past the CCC buildings, passing a few chuckwallas sunning themselves on the rocks. Up Mormon Loop, crossing paths with a Gila monster. Over to Hidden Valley and down that, where two little kids wanted to hike with us rather than their family. Once we pried them away, we stayed in the wash since up to that point, there’d been no solitude on the hike. The wash is my favorite part of the hike, so we took our time through there. Some nice lavender blooming in the wash. Once back at the buildings, we headed back up to San Gabriel Ridge and back down that to the car. Warm, but a pleasant breeze most of the time.
