| no partners | | Between camping and hiking, and then after lunch, with the high winds and dust, I found it enjoyable to drive some of the farmland and see the color green. Like John Lithgow's character in 2010: The Year We Make Contact, I miss green. I'll take dams, lakes, and artificial made land over the canyons flooded by these projects, any day. The last 12 months have had so little rain the desert is the driest I have ever seen it, even in normally wet Tucson the desert is barren.
Not out here! The life giving Colorado sends it's little water and creates a spectacular oasis of exotic plants. Yes, a salt crust surrounds most fields, and who knows how long it will last, but for now, this is an paradise of life. |
