| partners | | Back in Arizona after a month long dry spell of no hiking in Lubbock. After a couple days of domestic chores that needed to be done on the house we managed to get a hike in. We headed to the Tucson Mountains Saguaro National Park to hike a trail I did a few years back along the Hugh Norris Trail, Sandero Esperanza and Dobe Wash. We started from the Sus picnic area and headed to the Hugh Norris Trail and did the loop CCW.
The weather was perfect even though it was a little windy along the exposed areas of the ridge along the Hugh Norris Trail. Nice views from along the ridge, it was so clear I could see the Superstition Mountains. I took a picture but it wasn't as clear as my vision. The trails are all in pristine shape with only one deadfall (saguaro) along the Dobe Wash Trail and it isn't even worth mentioning except it had just fallen in the last year, probably summer. Fell flat on it's face, put its two arms out to break its fall but didn't help. Maybe it was its back, hard to tell on these things. We took a side trip from the Dobe Wash trail to a windmill that we saw from the above on the Hugh Norris Trail. It is in good working order but looked like it was in neutral, not pumping water. We only saw three other groups of two people the whole hike. I was surprised there wasn't more people out on such a nice day.
