Trying to find local trails where I can get away. I thought of either Bajada or Alta Trails in South Mountain. Bajada's fairly easy and parallels San Juan Rd. that's gated off to traffic. Not heavily used...I passed one hiker going the other way and at one point had two people behind me but only briefly. A few bikers on San Juan Rd. on the way back. Nothing really exciting but did hear the yipping of coyotes when I stopped at Bajada Ramada.

Will have to try Alta in the future. From what I see it goes along the ridgeline in the western part of S. Mountain.
